				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>QUALITY EMPLOYMENT is currently seeking Social Service Workers AND Child &amp; Youth Workers (CYW) to work with clients in the Durham Region!</p>
<p>JOB DESCRIPTION: The Social Service Worker and Child &amp; Youth Worker (CYW) will work in a community setting which includes Group Homes, Homeless Shelters, or Long Term Care Homes and will work to improve the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of children, adolescents and adults.</p>
<p>Responsibilities will include:</p>
<p>• Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and homeless shelters<br />
• Provide basic needs for adults living with mental illnesses, addictions and chronic homelessness<br />
• Encourage independence, community engagement and housing stability<br />
• De-escalate/Resolve conflict situations<br />
• Support the working relationship between residents and Case Workers; refer the resident back to their Case Worker whenever possible/necessary<br />
• Document resident interactions, referrals, progress and any change in behaviour<br />
• Ensure clear lines of communication with outside organizations who serve the residents<br />
• Complete incident reports and daily logs in a timely manner<br />
• Other duties as required</p>
<p>Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation</p>
<p>Personal attributes of a successful candidate: flexible and creative, reliable, mature, friendly and courteous with a desire to help.</p>
<p>EDUCATION: Must have:</p>
<p>• Child &amp; Youth Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma or Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma<br />
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (Level C/HCP)<br />
• Must have UMAB or CPI<br />
• Updated Police /Vulnerable Sector Clearance completed.<br />
• Updated Medical TB completed</p>
